Living DSM-IV
Living DSM-IV investigates the nature of human sexuality to show the contrast between "personal fulfillment" and psychiatry. Psychiatry assumes concepts such as "disease" and "condition" that are in conflict with the individual perceptions of many people. Psychiatry is seeking a cure behaviours, which are regarded as deviations, but often the treatment becomes impossible because the treated individual is poorly motivated and feel fully satisfied living it.
(This project was named winner of the SVA Photo Global Award at the ITS#TEN contest held on July 16th 2011 in Trieste, Italy).
Living DSM-IV investiga la naturaleza de la sexualidad humana para mostrar el contraste entre “realización personal” y psiquiatría.
La psiquiatría parte de conceptos como la “enfermedad” y la “afección” que chocan con la percepción individual de muchas personas. La psiquiatría trata de buscar una cura para lso comportamientos que son considerados como desviaciones, pero en muchas ocasiones el tratamiento deviene imposible porque el individuo está escasamente motivado a un tratamiento y se siente plenamente satisfechos viviéndolos.
